Merry Christmas From The Bridge
0This cute Christmas display is on one of the windows at the Covered Bridge Cafe on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Marion St. The cafe is just down the street from the Stayton-Jordan Bridge, a covered bridge at Pioneer Park.
Rumours In The Rain
3Here’s another photo from a recent rainy night (see also: September Rain, I Love A Rainy Night, and Star Cinema On A Rainy Night), this time of Rumours Restaurant & Lounge on 3rd Ave.
I tried not to over-expose the signs, but since the building and street were so dark, and I had to compromise. This is already two full stops under what my camera thought it should be. In retrospect, I could have taken two photos (one exposed to the signs and the other exposed to everything else) and combined them later, but it was raining and I was in a hurry, so I didn’t think of it.
Rumours Bar & Grill
2I’ve posted photos of this building before, but they changed a sign on it (the red one on the corner of the building is new), so that calls for another photo. It wouldn’t, normally, but I’m kind of desperate for photos at the moment.
One of these days, I’m really going to have to go inside this place.
This was taken on 3rd Ave., in historic downtown Stayton.
Rumours Lounge
0This Rumours Restaurant & Lounge building always intrigues me… it has lots of lighted signs to look at (click here for more photos I’ve taken of Rumours). I don’t think I’d ever noticed this little sign on the side of the building before, but I liked the contrast with the black of the building and the light-colored door. I couldn’t quite get the detail of the sign right, since the lights inside it distort the lettering.
Domestic & Imported
8I took this photo of a nifty old Ford Chevy (thanks for the correction, Mel!) truck sitting outside of the Fey Asian Chinese restaurant last month, and completely forgot it existed. I was happy to find it, since I haven’t been out to take photos in almost two weeks, so I’m having to scrounge to find photos. But, hey! If you want to submit a photo of the Stayton area for this here blog thang, then that would be rather awesome.
In “oh wow I just realized this” news, the 30th marks the fourth anniversary of Stayton Daily Photo. That’s pretty amazing, since I never expected to last a year, let alone four. I have absolutely nothing planned to commemorate the day, since I just remembered. Hmm.
Light Night
2I’ve posted photos of Rumours Restaurant & Lounge on 3rd Ave. before, but I was in the area a couple of nights ago, so I’m doing it again. I love the lighted signs on this place.
Black & White
8This white bench sits outside Rumours Lounge on 3rd Ave. I liked the contrast of it against the black wall.
I would like it be duly noted I have managed to go almost a week without posting a flower photo. It hasn’t been easy on my part, and I will likely crumble and post one tomorrow. You have been warned.
I would also like to note I’m changing the update times on my posts. I have been posting at midnight (Pacific time), but I think posting a bit later might be better. Less likely to get lost in the middle of the night, I hope. How does 5am (Pacific) work for you?
Late Afternoon At The A&W
3The sun created some nifty shadows in the parking lot at the A&W Restaurant on Washington St. yesterday. The pavement was kind of frosty due to the cold, moist air, which also made for an interesting texture on the ground.
Note: I changed the permalink structure on the blog. I don’t think it will break any links, but if you notice anything out of whack, please let me know. Thanks.
Lost In Translation
5Today’s photo is of the parking lot side of the Red Apple Chinese restaurant on 2nd Ave., next to the Post Office. I have no clue what the characters say, if anything. Maybe it’s the name of the restaurant. Dunno. I can’t just copy and paste it into Google Translate, so I’m a little lost. If anyone knows, please leave a comment or email me. Thank ya kindly.
