This sign lives at one of the parking exits at a veterinarian clinic on 1st Ave. So, you know, don’t turn left there.
Today is the theme day here in City Daily Photo land, and this month it’s “street lights and signs.” Stayton has but a few street lights, so I decided to go with signs, instead.
Stayton has quite a few tree-oriented street signs (my theme day photo has its own theme… gosh, that’s exciting). The mosaic above shows a portion of such signs, but there are more.
And, yes, I know ‘evergreen’ isn’t a tree, but since the vast majority of the trees in town are of the evergreen variety, I felt it should be included.
Lynette Hanson, a Portland resident who’s thinking of starting a Portland daily photo blog (go for it, Lynette!), has sent me a contribution to today’s theme day. It shows some street lights being reflected in a window on SW 3rd and Washington. Please click on the image at right to see the bigger version of the photo.
I hope Lynette does become a DP blogger… she’d make a great addition. You can also visit her non-DP blog.

There are various large puddles around Stayton during and after our recent rainstorms, and the sign above had been guarding one such puddle just off of 6th Ave. When I went by it a couple of days ago, though, it was still there, a silent sentinel on mostly dry street, nary a puddle to be seen.
Note: I revamped this here blog thing. I’m hoping it loads faster and is prettier to look at. Your thoughts are welcome… just leave a comment below.
